Tips For Choosing Florida Pool Enclosures

By Angela Briggs

One of the difficulties of having a home swimming pool is that you may be unable to use it all through the year. Usually, it is too cold to swim in the winter and autumn months. Even if you heat the water, the environmental temperature will make it difficult to go in and out. A good way of overcoming this problem is by using Florida pool enclosures.

Your energy costs will be high if you heat a pool that is not enclosed. There will be a lot of heat loss from evaporation because of the great difference between the air temperature and the water temperature that you want. Enclosures come in three main categories so it should not be difficult to find the type that is suitable for your home.

The first design is just a temporary inflatable cover. This can be erected easily and removed whenever you want. It is designed in the shape of a dome that is secured all around the perimeter before being inflated. After it has been inflated, warm air is then pumped into the enclosed space with a convection heater. This type is not suitable when there are strong winds or when the weather is very cold.

The telescopic design is the next category of Florida pool enclosures. This is a structure that is metal framed and covered with either safety polythene or glass. It works by sliding over the swimming area and providing protection and lighting. Similar to the inflatable cover, this telescopic structure is best for the spring and summer days when cooler weather is experienced.

The last option you may want to consider is the pool house. This is a permanent structure that will be built over the entire swimming area. This is the only option that makes it possible to use the facility every day of the year. It can be made with stone or brick and can also have large areas covered with strong glass.

Before an enclosure is chosen, there are several things to think about. The dimension of the covered space has to be considered. If you want to have an area where there will be tables and chairs, you need to add these to your measurements. In addition, you must determine the most appropriate height.

Look through online catalogues or brochures so that you can know a lot about the designs that can be obtained. You might want a minimalist style or an elegant look. Some will go with your backyard but others may not. Proper consideration should also be given to the issue of cost. If you are limited in your budget, a temporary structure will be more appropriate for you.

If you are constructing Florida pool enclosures, you will need an experienced contractor who can provide reliable service. Quality materials should be used for the construction and the installation must be properly done. It is advisable to contact three to five companies so you can compare their capabilities. Apart from being skillful and experienced, the ideal professionals should also be able to work within the budget that you have.
